Admissions

Waiting Room and Reception Area at Holmes Animal ClinicFor scheduled surgical and dental admissions, we ask that you have your pet here by 9:00 a.m.

Food and water is to be taken away at 10:00 p.m. the evening before a procedure requiring anesthesia.

If you are unable to be here by 9:00a.m. the morning of admission arrangements can be made to drop off your pet by 5:00 p.m. the evening before.

We strongly suggest that all patients undergoing anesthesia have pre-anesthetic bloodwork performed. This ensures that your pet is in a low risk category while in surgery.

At this time we also perform dental cleaning at a reduced price while your pet is under anesthesia for any other surgical procedure.

Surgical Preparation AreaWe perform emergency radiographs whenever indicated, but pets needing non-emergency radiographs should be dropped off on any weekday between 8:00AM and 9:00AM.  Pets admitted for radiographs should not be fed breakfast that morning in case anesthesia or sedation is required.  Time permitting, we will schedule an appointment for the pet's owner(s) to meet with the attending veterinarian to discuss the patient and view the radiographs when picking up the pet later in the day.

We ask that our clients call ahead to make appointments for their pets rather than walk in, except for emergency situations.

When checking on a hospitilized patient please wait until after 10:00a.m. allowing our doctor time to examine patients and dicuss necessary treatments and plans.

You are encouraged to visit your hospitalized pet as long as it will not interfere in the healing process. Please call ahead to make sure your visit is right for your pet and to schedule the time.

We care about your pet and their safety is important to us, so please have them on a leash or in a carrier.
